Western Night!

Recently, a friend informed me that Chik-Fil-A was having a "Western Night" and kids dressed accordingly would receive 3 free chicken strips. I took her up on it and dressed my boys in their best western attire. After visiting a friend and her new born baby girl, we headed over to Chik-Fil-A. Although we got there late and missed the cow and games, we still got our free chicken strips and the boys seriously had an absolute blast. They could hardly wait to finish eating so they could go play. Because it was so late, they were the only kids there. They discovered the fun of these places for the first time! I think they are a little intimidated of the usual loud, bustling atmosphere at play places as well as the bigger kids. They completely owned the place this time, and I had a ball watching them while taking pictures of the fun! Afterwards, they picked out a toy from the Dollar Tree. It was such a fun night with my boys! I want to say thanks to Angie (and sorry to Angela...I'll be sure to text the info along next time since I didn't do so well this time around! lol:)
My cowboys all saddled up for some chicken and fun!

Looks like he got the drop on his little brother!

Hats off for some fun! This is one of the many ways they came down the slide together!
(Sorry Jameson's eye looks funky.)

Just look at that smile! It says it all!

I can't stop smiling when I look at these! These little outlaws have completely stolen my heart!

Yes, I'm aware that my children are gorgeous. (Hee Hee Hee!)

Such a fun night!

 Cowboy turned into homeboy! LOL!
(I couldn't resist posting this one too!)

Price Less Foods

I don't need to tell you that feeding a family can get expensive. I also know that as our boys grow, (and our family grows,) so will our grocery bills. I'm not a coupon clipper but I just bought a three-month subscription to the Sunday paper so I can start clipping as well as ad matching. I'm pretty excited about getting my first one today. I'm all about getting a good deal so I'm also excited about this new grocery store in our area. If you haven't already, you need to go check it out! (It's in the same building where the old Houchens was.) This was our second time there but last time we went, they were getting ready to close so we were in a rush. The prices are great, the employees are very friendly and the miniature shopping carts for kids are a hit with Jameson! I soon realized we needed a big cart in addition to his little one, as it was filling fast and got too heavy for him to push. I was really impressed with what we got this evening for $37 and some change! (We lost the receipt so these prices are from our memory and may be a couple of cents off although most of them are dead on.) Anthony needed coffee filters and we got a pack of 200 for $0.58! We also got a 20 lb bag of russet potatoes for $4.96, 10 chicken legs for $2.34, a 2 lb pack of country style boneless ribs for $4.27, a bag of rice for $0.98, and the popsicles are actually free after you get your $2 mail-in rebate. Fooey about that receipt...lol! Make sure you keep yours if you buy some, because you will actually get paid to buy these! How sweet is that?! Speaking of sweet, I'm looking forward to trying these Krispy Kreme knock-offs for $2.10. The cashier claimed they were better than Krispy Kreme's. Anthony had one before he went to bed and says they are really good. I'll judge them in the morning. Their taxes are higher but it still ends up being a better deal than Wal-Mart. It's probably not a place I'll buy diapers, toiletries or cleaning products but you can't beat the prices on the food!

Happy Shopping,

Michelle
My $37 grocery haul at Price Less! One applesauce is missing because Landon was eating it while I took the picture! (I felt like I needed to throw that out there! Just mentally add another applesauce to that stack, K?) LOL!

Missing in Action

It's ironic and sad, but right after Tux posted on my blog, he came up missing. We haven't seen him for a few days now and I'm worried he got killed while out on a "date."   : (
Anthony checked the pound today with no luck. I actually cried a little when we pulled in the drive last night and didn't see him greet us. (Yes, I'm a big baby.) I realized it had been long enough and by now, he should be home. Maybe I'm wrong and he's on a long vacation or got lost on the way home. But my gut says there are too many dangers out there- vehicles, bigger cats, dogs, coyotes. I blame myself for procrastinating getting him neutered! Oh well, pets don't keep forever. But it was a nice year with him! Pray we find him soon....It would be nice to know if he's alive or not. It was sad seeing Jameson walk around the yard last night while yelling for him. I know God cares even about the little things!

A Recipe for my 100th Post!

Happy 100th post, blog of mine! ; )

I have a delicious and easy recipe to share with you all! It's "Teriyaki Chicken" and a new favorite in this house! All you need is frozen chicken, (5-6 breasts or 10-12 tenderlions which is what I did!) brown sugar and soy sauce. (one half cup of each) Throw it all in your crock pot and cook on high for 5-7 hrs or on low all night. I cooked it for about 12 hours and it fell apart easily with a fork but was a little browned around the edges. So 10 hours would be plenty!

This is what it looks like before cooking it.
I serve it over rice, (any kind you like cooked according to package directions.)
You could also eat it over pasta if you like!

You can add vegetables to the crock pot for the last hour. (Broccoli, carrots, whatever you like!) All I had was carrots and I cooked mine on the stove because I was in a hurry. I boiled them in soy sauce, a little bit of water and brown sugar and they were YUMMY! Anthony is not a big carrot person and he loved them like this!

I LOVE pineapple! They were a dollar at Aldi last week so I ad matched at Wal-Mart and got one! Regular price was almost $3! I cut it last night and refrigerated it in a bowl. It made a great addition to the meal and a healthy dessert alternative.

Bon Appetit!

The Birthday Girls!

Wednesday was my sweet sister-in-law's birthday. Happy 36th, Shelly! Today is my sweet sister's birthday. Happy 23rd, Sarah! It seems like I should be about that age! Wow.....time flies! I still remember shopping for your Miss Piggy rattle right after you were born. LOL!

We went out to eat at KFC last night to celebrate. Anthony wanted to get an ice cream cake (more for him than the birthday girls, I think! lol;) so we stopped by Dairy Queen and picked one up. They are so delicious and I like the pink and green.

Love you both!!  : )

Polka Dot Alligator Buys!

The Polka Dot Alligator Children's Consignment had their very first sale last month. Mom and I are hooked on Kentucky Kids Consignment Sales are were eager to see what this new one was like. We shopped together Wednesday night and volunteered one work shift on Thursday. I enjoyed the laid back and fun atmosphere the owners provided. I sold a few items in it and made $86 which makes my Spring consignment sale earnings a total of $411 between both sales. I was so happy with my purchases that I'm posting this review to show you what I got for about $60 (after my earnings.) I was extremely pleased with their selection of 3T-4T clothing for Jameson! I buy mostly for him since he passes every thing down to Landon. The racks were full of like new Gymboree, Crazy 8, The Children's Place, Old Navy and GAP clothing. I hadn't found what I wanted at KKCS when it came to clothes but PDA made up for it! I actually found clothes to match what I already had for one boy. I love to match them for Church, so this excited me.

TOYS & books! Jameson had been wanting a Rex since before his birthday and we couldn't find one. There he was waiting on the table for him! The "Are You My Mother?" book is some thing I almost purchased when newly pregnant with Jameson. I've always loved the book and this soft interactive version is great for Church. You can take the baby bird in and out of the egg, the crane and his Mother's arms. Both boys love it and so do I! The Bass Pro hummer was $2.50!

SHOES! Top: Gymboree tennis shoes, Janie & Jack leather sandals, water shoes
Bottom: The Children's Place navy/white saddle shoes, TCP brown/cream saddle shoes
I LOVE saddle shoes and had a pair a lot like the blue and white ones when I was little. Then, of course, you can never own too many pairs of rubber boots for little boys! They are Landon's as are the brown saddle shoes. The rest are Jameson's. I think they were all $5 and under.

CLOTHES! (All for Jameson! The 24 month section had ZILCH for Landon!)
I couldn't leave this adorable gingham shirt, puppy vest and matching socks from Gymboree there! I also love this teal checkered shirt and vest from TCP but didn't want to pay the $10.50 for it. Thank goodness for half-off pre-sale night! :)

The picture doesn't do this outfit justice. The shirt is CHAPS and it's brand new. The pants are GEORGE but very nice and match well! These are a little too big right now but I'm looking forward to seeing Jameson wear this.

This is one of the outfits I wrote about that matches what we already had. I had just bought Landon a froggy outfit from Crazy 8 so when I saw these Gymboree pants that matched for Jameson, I had to get them! The vest it TCP and can be worn over a white polo. I found the green polo at half off night. So the outfit can be worn 2 ways.

Here's the other matching piece I found! Jameson had his 2 year pictures made in this same vest (with a striped blue shirt.) It's now been passed down to Landon, of course. When I found this on the rack in 4T, this matchy Mama grabbed it!

Here are the really nice shirts I got for Jameson. The shark tee is Crazy 8, the monkey one is Gymboree and the John Deere was brand new with tags.

The first pair had to pulled from the dirty clothes basket for this picture! lol!
Old Navy jeans, Healthtex black slacks & Calvin Klein jeans

So there's my haul minus a couple of items that I can't find right now including a pair of cool monkey sunglasses from Gymboree. Their next sale will be at the end of August. Check out their website if you like: www.polkadotalligator.com

The Way I like It

Hey! It's me, Tux the cat. I'm the only pet left around here. I kind of like it this way, though. The puppy was far too happy for my liking. The fish would've made better midnight snacks. You need a lot of energy when you've got 13 girl friends to visit, ya know. I heard Mom saying some thing the other day about fixing that. (Not sure what she means.) I turned 1 year old on April 1st so I guess I'm a full grown Tom now. I didn't get a thing for my birthday and Mom tried making up for it by buying me a bag of cheap treats the other day. (I purposely refused them.) She's got nerve!
