Jameson's 4th Birthday Party!

It's hard to believe we now have a 4 year old little boy! To say Jameson was excited about his birthday this year is an understatement. He anticipated his party for days, as well as that BIG number! He told every one we ran into that he was going to have a birthday and he'd be FOUR. One day he heard me say it was January and his reply was, "Oh, January?! Yay! I'm gonna be four!" He knew his birthday was the 8th and getting very close. We had his party on the 7th, Saturday night at Gatti's. It was a lot of fun for every one! The birthday boy ate a huge plate of spaghetti (a favorite food of his:) and lit up when we sang, "Happy Birthday" to him. He was super excited about his gifts and had to have his Buzz, Woody and their race car opened immediately. He was so into playing with them, he skipped eating cake and waited until we got home to sample a piece. He loves his new bedding set we gave to him. When I put it all on his bed that night, he crawled under the sheets and a contented grin came on his face while Anthony & I laughed.

We are both dreading the upcoming check-up and FOUR shots! :( I mentioned it to Jameson a couple of times and he gets scared and denies it's going to happen. Honestly, I'd like to be in denial too. It makes me want to cry thinking about it. I have drafted Daddy to come along for this one, as I think it'll be the worst yet and I usually do all the "fun" shot appointments alone any way! Pray it goes okay.

I thought I'd write a few things about our little man at age 4. He's a peanut, only weighing 33 lb and still wearing size 3T pants. His favorite foods are spaghetti, pizza, rice, bacon, green beans, chicken and chicken nugget happy meals.

He's very imaginative and really gets into play time. His favorite toys are Buzz & Woody, Rescue Heroes, (Nana bought him a bunch from the Sale:) his Leapster, (Mommy also got it from our favorite place for $12:) AND are you ready for this?.....My old Barbies! Ha Ha! He plays with "Rob and Chelle" quite a bit. They get married, they zoom around in their car (my old Barbie Jaguar) and have a time! He loves any kind of action figure. He makes them talk, fight, fly, you name it.

He's a good big brother for the most part. He's very sweet and never fails to cheer me when I need it! The other day I was burdened about some thing and Jameson said "You'll see, Mom. It'll be okay. You'll see!" :) He also said some thing that floored me the other night. We're laying in bed listening to an Odyssey about a little boy getting a little sister when out of the blue, he told me he wanted me to get a baby in my belly and he wanted to "hold her." (He cupped his hands together while saying this) He asked me if I was ready to get a baby in my belly and go to the hospital! Ha Ha! It was so sweet but I told him we had a baby Landon and I wasn't sure if I was ready for that yet!

It's crazy to think that in less than three months, we'll be having another party for our "baby" who will be TWO! These boys are NOT listening to their Mother and growing entirely too fast! ;)

Enjoy the pictures! There are a lot of them - Sorry, I'm used to posting entire albums to facebook so it's hard for me to choose 2 or 3. :)

Look out, Blog!

Today I'm exiting the facebook world that I've grown to love so dearly. It's been a big part of my life for the past 2 and a half years. I'm not sure how the next few days or weeks will be for me. I am sure I'll experience some withdrawal symptoms. (It's kind of like taking the morning newspaper and coffee away from an old man, ya know? lol) I just wanted to warn my followers (all 5 of you) that there may be daily or hourly posts from a very lonely girl on this blog. I need you to comment on them all, even if you don't want to and even if you don't know what to say. I need some support here. ( Ha Ha! :)

Jameson's 4th birthday pictures are coming soon!

Waiting for Jameson Avery....

Four years ago tonight, Anthony and I tried to go to bed early since we'd be rising early for my induction at the hospital at 6:00 am. It didn't do any good. Dreamland was a hard place to reach that night for us. We laid in bed chatting excitedly. I'd occasionally jump up with my 41 week pregnant belly to check the hospital bags and add some thing else to them. We were all smiles, and it took a lot of sheep counting that night before we drifted off......dreaming of and anxiously awaiting the day we'd become parents! : )

Post Christmas/Post Sickness Thoughts....

As always, we had a wonderful Christmas filled with family, food and festivities. My favorite part of the season is giving. I love shopping for loved ones and watching their reactions as they open their gifts. Mom got an unexpected cashmere sweater, Anthony got a new suit and dress shoes, Shelly got a Shutterfly book of Pam that brought both of us to tears, and our boys got way more toys than they need (which are keeping them quite busy today)! I made a huge Christmas dinner of ham, broccoli casserole, homemade mac & cheese, potato salad, baked beans, and rolls which was shared with neighbors who loved and appreciated it. Jameson's reaction to opening his #1 most wanted present (a "Big Buzz") was priceless. His excitement spilled over on us and his genuine and voluntary, "Thanks, Mom and Dad!" meant the world to me and Anthony. Landon literally played the life out of his little Elmo drum set and drove us crazy in the process. I have to admit, I feel a little guilty at the amount of toys my children have when many children get nothing for Christmas. A small gift like a hot wheels car would be the thrill of their lifetime and my kids' room overflows with things they don't really need.

I received a new purple tambourine from Anthony this year. I've used my red one for over 20 years so I'd say it was time for a replacement. I remember Mom & Dad taking me to pick it out when I was about 6 years old. I won't ever get rid of it, but I'm looking forward to playing the new one at Church while not worrying about rusted cymbals flying off and hitting a pew neighbor in the head though! (This never happened, it was only a silly fear. Rhythm Tech comes highly recommended here. No injuries and it still made a joyful noise at 22 years old. The "joyful" part may be debatable though.) Mom and Dad gave me a stainless steel cookware set than I am in love with already. I wore out the $20 set we received as a wedding gift 8 years ago and was thrilled to see those old pots replaced with shiny new ones! We were given several restaurant gift cards and we don't waste much time using them.

I am such a blessed girl! When I see our "table scraps" I think of the hungry people who would consider them a feast. When I complain about cleaning up after my guys, my heart is pricked and I remember how blessed I am to have those 3 guys and this wonderful, warm home to keep.

Landon and I are happy to be on the mend from our recent sinus infections. Mine started out feeling like the flu about a week and a half ago. My body ached, I was weak, and my head and face hurt badly. My sweet little boy told me to wait until Daddy got home because they would both pray for me. He heard me crying in the living room and left his lasagna supper to come get the job done, with or without Dad, who hadn't arrived home from work. It touched my heart when he laid his hands on my shoulders and prayed for me to feel better. After 5 days of antibiotics, I'm feeling like myself again. When my kids are sick, I realize how blessed we are to have healthy ones. When I'm feeling bad, it makes me thankful for health and strength to be a Mom and wife.

The best gift I have ever received is one that we should share all year round: JESUS!

Christmas pictures will follow this post shortly! (Every one's definition of "shortly" differs but it will be soon! ;)

    Blessings in 2012,

    Michelle
